Private TOUR #10 Pick Up Paris – Two Days Tour

from 2100,00

Many of our clients ask us about the possibility of a Tour with us in Normandy, departing from their location in Paris.
WE CAN ACCOMMODATE YOU!

Many of our clients have made inquiries about having us pick them up at their hotel in Paris for a day long tour in Normandy. Because of the distances and logistics involved in one of our quality military tours in Normandy, we suggest that you give consideration to planning your trip effectively and with maximum efficiency. And please! Don’t be tempted to hire a substandard Paris based tour company to do the job of expert tour guides with Overlordtours in a once in a lifetime trip to Normandy!

If You Are Coming From Paris

If you are coming from Paris, and considering one of our tours, we have several suggestions for you to consider. To do right by yourself, and honor your intentions to receive the best tour experience in Normandy with Overlordtour, we suggest that you try to keep the distance and times from Paris to Normandy realistic, and equally achievable.

To expect to travel to and from Paris to Normandy in one day, and accomplish any kind of a respectable tour with us is virtually impossible. At a distance of over 1500 km, and three hours travel one way, you can easily see that a tour out, and back from Paris in one day would be a herculean task for even the most ardent traveler. Here are a few practical suggestions/options that you may want to consider to maximize your tour experience with us:
You can rent a car from Paris, but keep in mind that it is about a three hour trip to Normandy. If you do so, we suggest that you take a leisurly day to travel to Normandy, and enjoy the French countryside on the way up. Then, when you arrive unhurried in Bayeux that day, you can relax, enjoy our Norman cuisine, great wines and perhaps take in a self guided tour of some local sites in Bayeux, such as the famous Cathedral, and historic Bayeux Tapestry on display in the town. You can then get up fresh and ready to go the next day and take one of our Full Day Tours, or one of our Personalized/Customized tours according to your choice.
Or, you can plan your trip to Normandy by taking one of our comfortable and efficent rail lines from Paris, which will literally drop you in our lap at Bayeux by 9:30 in the morning where we can pick you up,and start your tour fresh and early enough in the day so that you will be able to take in a Half Day Tour in the afternoon or a Full Day Tour with us.
Another choice is to allow one of our guides to pick you up in Paris and bring you to Bayeux. This is a realistic and wonderful choice, and we are happy to do so, but we have structured this option requiring two days with us- again due to the distances and logistics with travel from Paris- so that you can adequately enjoy one of our tours of the Invasion areas. Following your tour, we can return you to Paris via a possible tour of the Palace at Versailles, or even Monet’s house on the way.

  1. Spot 1 Tour # 10

The spots that we can visit in Tour # 10 must take into account the time to and from Paris to Normandy. (Approximately 2:30 / 3:00 hours) Generally our customers wish to see the most popular sites like Omaha Beach, American Cemetery, Pointe du Hoc, Sainte-Mère-Eglise, Arromanches, Bayeux etc .... However our company remains open to any suggestion provided the program remains within the timeframe (8.30am – 6pm). If the two days do not allow you to see all of the sites you wish to see, we recommend you stay an extra day and join a full day group tour or take a Full day Private Tour the day before returning to Paris. Our two planning administrators, Hope and Becky, will be happy to help you in your choice.

Giverny

Welcome to the world of the painter and gardener Claude Monet. For over 40 years, until his death in 1926 , Giverny was his home , his site of creation and his masterpiece . A world of senses, of colors and of memories, the house in which the artist and his family lived notably contains his studio-sitting room and his exceptional collection of Japanese prints. The gardens are composed of the Clos Normand, with its flowerbeds, and the Water Garden, planted with oriental vegetation and weeping willows, its Japanese bridge painted green and its waterlilies.
